THURU'S STORY
Thuru Lodge was developed in 2001. The farm was acquired by Hennie Gouws and his family in 2010. A Kalahari dream was visualized; a place where luxury, serenity and adrenaline comes together. Thuru Lodge is situated in the gateway of the Green Kalahari, close to the town of Groblershoop in the Northern Cape.
Thuru Lodge has a unique variety of vegetation types, broadly classified into Nama Karoo, Kalahari and Karoo Mountain vegetation. Thuru Lodge only has an average of 200mm rain per year and on a 45 000 acre farm, Thuru Game Lodge, is a Luxury Safari oasis in the desert.

Thuru Game Lodge offers a wide and open landscape with 30+ species of Game. Our 5 Star luxurious & authentic lodge will give you the opportunity to experience Africa at it’s best.
We offer various activities for you to enjoy during your stay such as horse riding, quad biking, game drives, our serenity day spa, swimming pools and jacuzzi.
We serve a breakfast buffet, with lunches and dinner. Sunsets can be enjoyed on a picturesque red sand dune with dinner and drinks or you can enjoy our special formal dinners in remote boma locations in the red sand dunes, with a full dining experience under the stars.
